Miss Understood :)

I met Wila a few days ago. She looked prettier than ever.

She is a sophomore law student from the University of San Agustin. I met her during our freshman year, when she and I were just stepping foot in UP. I cannot remember how we stuck together. But when four years saw me and her (along with a few others) through college, I knew she had become one of my best friends.

No dirty thoughts there, matey.

She likes Japanese anime and fastfood. She and I would order Kenny’s and aaaalways, she found it hard to finish her chicken.

I miss her girly sing-song voice. It is something really unique about her. A lot of people mistook it for Wila being a snob, but she never took them all badly. She is the type who does not care about what people think of her.

I often see her as a fragile person, a girl who needs to be taken care of. But she is strong. Millions of barbels away from me.

My other friends and I would often mimic the way she speaks and make it sound worse to annoy her. We would also mimic the way she moves, reacts and smiles. I realized it was one of the fun things we did a lot in college.

I remember my elementary days when I felt proud to have a pretty friend. My reasons for befriending pretty people were superficial before. Now, it got worse. KIDDING.

I miss Wila. I hope we can hang out again soon.

Friends. (with or without benefits XD)

I met them years ago—some as far as my elementary years, the others during high school. We never had the exact same interests all at the same time, except in making fun of each other.

Some took related courses, some chose to venture on different fields. But, never once did we let the differences become hindrances to our common interests.

To the sameness. To the differences. I’m really glad we stayed the same. 

100 Sorries, A Happy Find

100 sorries

If I could only speak
100 words,
I would spend it all to say I’m sorry
Even when you turn away.

I would use them all to make you stay
And be by my side always.
For I won’t need thoughts absurd
If I can’t have my 100 words.

I would use them to make you happy
When your sun goes far, far away.
Or I would call out to the sun a hundred times
So it will come back and you will be mine.

If I could only speak a hundred words
I would not think of any other things
Except to wait for the day
When I can finally say, “I’m sorry.”

A Happy Find

We lost it one day
And we were too anxious
To know where it went
But all thoughts disappeared,
When we found it.

We lost it one day
and it worried you and me.
For we might never
Spend another lifetime with it
Then the good news came:
We found it.

We lost it one day,
On that hut by the sea
The wind blew and the waters splashed,
Bu we found it anyway.

I found you.
You found me.
And that pinch of happiness
We yearned to see.

Home, and how much it sucks not to be there on Halloween.

I want so badly to go home.
[cue: Home by Michael Buble]

I miss Iloilo. I miss my sister’s unkempt hair. I miss the dirt road in our place. I miss Nong Roger, our family friend who always comes too early in our house but refuses coffee. I miss my father’s vegetable garden. I miss my own plants in my mother’s vegetable garden.

I miss the thought of being there.

I realized I had never been homesick before. Even when I was in college, I would go home twice or thrice a month. Now, I can really relate to my classmates who lived as far as Pagadian City.

I hope some miracle happens and I get to ride a boat home. Even for two days.

Flowers and T-Ice

We bought the flowers to make ourselves feel good, Maam Doris, Ate Maf, Jennie and I. They looked so good on the stands that we decided we should have some of them.

When we got home, Jen and I realized that we do not have vases to put them in. To give these two empty bottles their second life, we cleaned them and made them containers for the flowers.

Funny how the flowers and the T-Ice bottle need liquid to assert their purpose. :)

wanted: bionic woman

We had a meeting in the office last June 18.

In the middle of the talk about being able to juggle different tasks at a time, our boss jested: “See, we are looking for a bionic woman”.

With six projects over and halfway through the seventh (for Jen and I because we are new here), I realized that a bionic woman is indeed what public relation needs. There were already countless times which I have been my “langka” self, forgetting to do or bring some of the things needed on the event.

I tried doing a list, making mental notes (which are really ineffective for me, hahaha!), and planning ahead. The result: still chaos. I think it’s my alter-ego. She always is positive. She is a dreamer. An idealist. A “no-worry, just-go-ahead” type.

Sometimes, I want to be like her. I want to be a bionic woman, the type who can do a lot of things at the same time. I want to be more than productive, I want to be ahead. I want to work, not just to impress but also to commit myself to a higher sense of purpose and being.

But now, as I am imagining her, the future me, I realize that, yet again, I am daydreaming.
Perhaps, another time. :)

Nokia launches two new phones: C2-00 and X1-01

Last June 14 and 15, I was privileged to be a part of a new innovation in one of the, if not the, biggest mobile giant in the country, Nokia.

It launched two new phones, the Nokia C2-00 and the Nokia X1-01. Each with a lot of new features, Nokia Philippines assures its market that they are not far behind the other companies which have launch similar dual SIM phones. For one, the new Nokia phones can remember the settings of up to 5 SIMs. One need not turn their phones off and switch SIMs. Just slide open, retrieve the SIM you want changed, and put in the new one. Easy and breezy. The phones speak convenience, cost savings, simplicity and style.

Day 9 @ PR. XD

“I’m tired. I guess that means I am working.”

It’s my ninth day here at the office. Since day 1, I feel tired. I complain but only to myself. I would like to take it in a more positive light because I’d like to please myself with the thought that I am useful. Hahahaha. I like it when I’m useful. I feel free. I feel like I’m doing the world a favor.

I love the people here. They are a few years older than Jennie and I but we get along pretty well. Miss Mafe is like a younger version of a mother who doesn’t seem to worry about anything at all. Miss Yoko is he quiet one, but maybe it’s because we haven’t bonded really much pa. Ate Bel is the shy one, very much like Ate Yoko. Ate Cath is the eldest ate. Hehe. Very dependable and can be funny at times. Kuya and Kuya Jun are not as close to us but they are as nice as the rest. Our bossing, Miss Doris is also nice. She isn’t bossy nor intimidating, but I love her professionalism and the way she dishes out orders without offending someone.

I have lots to share but this isn’t exactly the perfect time to be typing away in my WordPress like a maniac. XD

I am loving this! :D
